MAKE A LOCAL IMPACT

Founded and led by volunteers, our YMCAs thrive on the generosity and commitment of those who give their time. We welcome volunteers of all ages eager to make a difference.

Whether you’re an adult seeking to contribute to a one-time event, an ongoing project, or community service, or a student looking to fulfill class or internship requirements, the Y offers a variety of volunteer opportunities and warmly invites your participation.

The spirit of giving is at the heart of our mission. By volunteering at the Y, you become a catalyst for meaningful, lasting change in your community. You will join a team of compassionate, dedicated individuals working together to make a positive impact.

FEATURED VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY: LEADERS CLUB LAWN CARE HEROES PROJECT

Give back to neighbors in our community through the YMCA of Greenwich’s Y-Leaders Lawn Care Heroes Project. Volunteers will come together for a day of service to provide fall yard and leaf clean-up for local seniors and YMCA members with disabilities or physical limitations who may need an extra helping hand.

Working in teams alongside Y-Leaders, parents, YMCA staff, members, and community volunteers, participants will be assigned to a local home to assist with raking leaves, removing debris, and general fall yard clean-up. No lawn care experience is necessary—just a willingness to work together and make a difference. Supplies and equipment will be provided by the YMCA.

The service day will take place on a Saturday in November from 9:30 AM–2:00 PM. Volunteers will begin the morning at the YMCA with a light breakfast before forming teams, gathering supplies, and traveling to their assigned homes.
