The YMCA of Greenwich is a proud provider of American Red Cross health and safety training. We offer the latest course curriculum in Lifeguarding, Water Safety Instructor, First Aid, CPR/AED (for both the Professional Rescuer and the lay responder), Connecticut Childcare, Babysitter’s Training, and more. Our course offerings are open to members and non-members.

LIFEGUARD TRAINING - REVIEW COURSE OFFERINGS
WATER SAFETY INSTRUCTOR COURSE
This course trains WSI candidates to teach courses and presentations in the American Red Cross Swimming and Water Safety program by developing their understanding of how to use the course materials, how to conduct training sessions, and how to evaluate participants’ progress.

HOW DO I ENROLL?
- Be at least 16 years of age on or before the last day of the training.
- Successfully complete the pre-course session which includes a demonstration of swimming skills at Learn-to-Swim Level 4.

ADULT AND PEDIATRIC FIRST AID/CPR/AED
The American Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED r.21 program is designed to help participants recognize and respond appropriately to cardiac, breathing, and first aid emergencies. The course teaches participants the knowledge and skills needed to give care needed to an injured or ill person when minutes matter, and to decide whether advanced medical care is needed.
Register at least 48 hours in advance to complete the ONLINE course prior to attending the in-person skill session. Email instructor Angelareeve@optonline.net to obtain the link for the ONLINE portion of the course.
Registration Fee: $150
- A&P FA/CPR/AED - Course B: Mar 18 (Tue) - 6:00pm - 9:00pm
- A&P FA/CPR/AED - Course C: May 12 (Mon) - 6:00pm - 9:00pm
WATERFRONT SKILLS MODULE
Red Cross Waterfront Module is designed to train pool lifeguards in working non-surf beaches. You will be trained in using mask & fins, searching shallow & deep water areas, and using a rescue board. Training will occur in both pool and waterfront. Upon successful completion of this course (including written and rescue skills testing), you will receive an American Red Cross Lifeguard Waterfront Training certificate which is only valid with a current Red Cross Lifeguard Certificate.
