Social Responsibility

Supporting The Greenwich Community And Beyond

At the YMCA of Greenwich, we are committed to fostering social responsibility through impactful community programs. Our initiatives, such as the Safety Around Water program and the Running Start program, are designed to provide essential resources and support to those in our community. These programs aim to promote safety, education, and well-being, ensuring a brighter future for everyone in our community.

Safety Around Water

In partnership with Greenwich Public Schools, we evaluated the water safety skills of over 600 fourth graders and provided free lessons to those identified as needing improvement. This program is designed to help children in our coastal community learn essential water safety skills, enabling them to explore and enjoy aquatic activities safely.

Running Start

Aimed at providing local school children with the opportunity to go back-to-school clothes shopping, Running Start empowers children to start the new school year with confidence. Directly aligned with our commitment to nurture the potential of every child and teen, this program ensures that students have the clothing and supplies they need to focus on their education and personal growth, fostering a positive start to the academic year.
