The Staff Member of the Year award honors individuals who demonstrate exceptional service and commitment to the YMCA of Greenwich. By recognizing those who consistently exceed expectations, we celebrate their contributions to the Y's mission. We are pleased to honor Group Fitness Instructor and Personal Trainer Dave Graves and Membership Relations Associate Tess Bracchitta as our 2023 Staff Members of the Year.

Dave's genuine enthusiasm for our work at the Y is contagious. He consistently shows his commitment to our Y's cause by volunteering for maintenance tasks, organizing wellness programs, and offering encouragement. He fosters a welcoming and inclusive environment for all members of our Y, embracing each person's unique needs and abilities. His Fit 4 Life program, focused on essential functional exercises for older adults, has amassed around 40 regular members, many of whom use his personal training services. Dave also supports LIVESTRONG, an evidence-based program that helps adult cancer survivors reclaim their health after a diagnosis.

Tess greets everyone at the front desk with a warm smile. She genuinely cares about her role and the membership experience, making a point to get to know everyone she meets. This familiarity and connection encourages people to return to our Y. Tess’s natural ability to make others feel valued comes from her love of helping and being part of a team. She consistently provides excellent customer service and is always ready to assist wherever needed.

Dave and Tess exemplify the Y’s commitment to social responsibility. Their efforts help make our Y a more welcoming place and inspire others to engage more deeply with the community. By setting this example, they demonstrate that social responsibility isn’t just an organizational goal but a personal commitment that, when embraced by individuals, can ripple outward to create lasting, positive change. Their actions remind us that true community strength comes from members who, like Dave and Tess, choose to uplift and support those around them.
