Why Functional Fitness?

Functional exercises train your muscles to work together while preparing you for real-life activities. Benefits include:

  • Improved Coordination: Perform everyday tasks with more ease and efficiency.
  • Enhanced Strength: Build muscle groups used in lifting, bending, and reaching.
  • Injury Prevention: Strengthen stabilizer muscles to reduce the risk of strains and falls.

Tips for Success:

  • Prioritize Form: Proper technique is essential to maximize benefits and prevent injury.
  • Adjust as Needed: Modify the exercises (e.g., push-ups on knees or lighter kettlebells) to match your fitness level.
  • Take Your Time: Focus on quality over speed to fully engage each movement pattern.

Track Your Progress

Don’t forget to log your rounds in the Greenwich YMCA Mobile App! Staying consistent over the holidays will help you start the new year strong.
