The holiday season is full of celebrations—but it can also bring challenges tomaintaining healthy habits. This session will explore practical strategies for staying physically active and making smart nutrition choices during the busiest time of year.Learn how small, sustainable changes can help reduce cancer risk, support overall wellness, and keep you energized through the holidays and beyond.
Our Speakers:
Vanessa Salino is a Registered Dietitian who is also a Certified Specialist in Oncology Nutrition. She has been in practice for over 13 years working for Yale New Haven Health and Smilow Cancer Centers. Vanessa works with people with all types of cancer receiving various treatment modalities.
Heather Studwell works at Smilow Cancer Hospital Care Center at Greenwich Hospital as the Oncology Survivorship Coordinator. Prior to becoming the survivorship coordinator she worked as an occupational therapist in the physical medicine department at Greenwich Hospital for over 20 years with a specialty in oncology rehabilitation specifically breast cancer and lymphedema. She continues to work per diem treating this population. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in Early Childhood Education from Syracuse University and a Bachelor in Health Science/Masters in Occupational Therapy from Mercy College. She is board certified in lymphedema treatment through LANA (Lymphology Association of North America) and is a Certified Oncology Rehabilitation Specialist. She has an MBA in Healthcare Administration from Marist College and is a Doctorate student at George Washington University.
