ELEMENTARY SCHOOL-AGED SUMMER CAMPS

2026 Registration Opens January 5th!

Our School-Age Summer Camps offer exciting, age-appropriate experiences for children looking to stay active, curious, and connected all summer long. From our on-site Discovery Camp at the YMCA to our brand-new Adventure Camp at Camp Seton, plus a wide variety of Youth Specialty Camps, families can choose the experience that best matches their child’s interests and energy.

We’re especially excited to introduce Camp Seton as a new part of our summer camp offerings. This wooded, outdoor setting—long used by Scouting programs—will now host Adventure Camp exclusively, along with select Youth Specialty Camps, giving campers even more opportunities to explore, challenge themselves, and connect with nature in a meaningful way.

NOTE: The registration buttons below each camp type will not be functional until camp registration opens on January 5, 2026.

DISCOVERY CAMP

A full-day, on-site camp experience where elementary-aged campers explore new skills, make friends, and stay active through swimming, arts & crafts, field trips, STEM projects, sports, and imaginative play—all rooted in the Y’s values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.

  • Dates: June 29, 2026 - August 21, 2026
  • Ages: 3 years - 3rd Grade
  • Time: 8:30AM-4:00PM
  • Extended Morning Care: 8:00AM-8:30AM
  • Extended Evening Care: 4:00PM-6:00PM

ADVENTURE CAMP AT CAMP SETON

New this summer, Adventure Camp will take place at Camp Seton, the wooded Greenwich campgrounds long used by Scouting America. This exciting outdoor setting lets middle schoolers fully immerse themselves in nature as they enjoy canoeing, swimming, archery, hiking, rock climbing, field sports and games, and a low ropes course. With miles of trails and natural challenges, Camp Seton offers a true outdoor adventure experience—unlike anything we’ve offered before.

  • Dates: June 29, 2026 - August 7, 2026
  • Ages: 4th - 5th Grade
  • Time: 8:30AM-4:00PM
  • Extended Morning Care: 8:00AM-8:30AM
  • Extended Evening Care: 4:00PM-6:00PM
  • Location: Camp Seton (363 Riversville Rd, Greenwich, CT 06831)

This program includes optional bus transportation from the YMCA of Greenwich, offered on a limited, first-come, first-served basis.

YOUTH SPECIALTY CAMPS

Our Youth Specialty Camps offer focused, half-day experiences that let campers dive deep into their interests—from sports and adventure to innovation and creative technology. Each week features a different specialty theme, giving campers the chance to explore new skills, build confidence, and stay active in a supportive, small-group environment.

  • Dates: July 6, 2026 - August 7, 2026
  • Ages: 5th - 7th Grade
  • Time: 8:30AM-12:30PM
  • Extended Morning Care: N/A
  • Extended Evening Care: N/A
  • Location: Some weeks at the YMCA of Greenwich and others at Camp Seton, read each camp description for location information.

This program does not include bus transportation from the YMCA of Greenwich to Camp Seton, participants will need to be dropped off at Camp Seton if they are participating in Youth Specialty Camps Week 1, 2, or 3. 

YOUTH SPECIALTY CAMP DESCRIPTIONS

A fast-paced sports camp focused on building basketball and soccer skills. Middle schoolers build athletic skills, teamwork, and confidence through a variety of age-appropriate sports and active games.

A nature-themed adventure camp where campers learn outdoor skills, teamwork, problem-solving, and resilience through hands-on challenges in a fun, supportive environment.

A specialty camp combining archery fundamentals with bouldering and climbing challenges, helping campers develop focus, coordination, and confidence.

A creative entrepreneurship camp where middle schoolers design, build, and pitch their own ideas through fun problem-solving challenges, innovation exercises, and team projects.

CODE NINJAS CAMPS

In partnership with Code Ninjas—a nationally recognized leader in youth STEM education—our coding and creative technology camps give kids the chance to build the skills of tomorrow in a fun, supportive, and hands-on environment. This specialty camp introduces real-world concepts like coding, digital creativity, AI, animation, design thinking, and content creation through age-appropriate tools and guided exploration.

  • Dates: July 27 - July 31 (Week 1); August 3 - August 7 (Week 2)
  • Ages: 6th - 8th Grade
  • Time: 8:30AM-12:30PM and/or 1:00PM-5:00PM
  • Extended Morning Care: N/A

CODE NINJAS CAMPS DESCRIPTIONS

Week 1: July 27- 31, 8:30AM - 12:30PM

ADVENTURES IN 3D PRINTING

Through Adventures in 3D Printing, ninjas will  explore design thinking and the innovative  process as they learn to prototype and test  new creations using Tinkercad software. Students will learn how to design, model, and print their own creations—from keychains, cars, action heroes to custom toys and more. Along the way, they’ll develop problem-solving skills, spatial reasoning, and creativity in a fun, supportive environment.  

Week 1: July 27 - 31, 1:00PM - 5:00PM

FUTURE MINDS AI ACADEMY

This camp is designed to explore the fundamentals of artificial intelligence through hands-on coding, games, and robotics. Kids learn how AI recognizes images, understands patterns, and powers the smart technology they use every day. Throughout the week, Ninjas experiment with fun, kid-safe AI tools and apply their growing knowledge to design their own creative projects—from mini chatbots to AI-powered games. By the end, they’ll gain confidence as responsible creators of the future, not just users of technology. 

Week 2: August 3 - August 7, 8:30AM - 12:30PM

STOP MOTION ANIMATION

In this creative, hands-on camp, Ninjas explore the magic of stop-motion filmmaking using a variety of mediums including Claymation, LEGO® Minifigures, pipe-cleaner creatures, and more. Campers learn how to plan scenes, capture images frame-by-frame, and bring characters to life using kid-friendly animation tools. Along the way, they practice storytelling, timing, and rapid prototyping as they turn simple objects into animated masterpieces. By the end of camp, each Ninja leaves with their own original short films and a proud understanding of real animation techniques. 

Week 2: August 3 - Augsut 7; 1:00PM - 5:00PM

BECOME A YOUTUBER!

In this exciting, creator-focused camp, Ninjas sharpen both their coding and vlogging skills by designing a custom game in Scratch, MakeCode, or Roblox and producing a polished video tutorial to showcase it. Campers learn the fundamentals of storytelling, scriptwriting, recording, and basic editing—just like real content creators. They also explore online safety, responsible digital citizenship, and how to build a positive presence on their own personalized YouTube channel. By the end, each Ninja walks away with a playable game and a pro-style video they can proudly share.

SUMMER SCHOOL HALF DAY CAMP

Designed to complement Greenwich Public Schools’ summer school schedule, this half-day program provides fun, structured activities that keep campers engaged and active after their academic morning. Includes sports, arts, STEM, and outdoor play. Campers are directly bussed from Greenwich Public Schools.

  • Ages: Kindergarten - 4th Grade
  • Time: 12:00PM-4:00PM

HOW DO I REGISTER?

Step 1: Scroll down to the 2025 Program Group section of this page, click on one of the buttons below, and follow the instructions to register.

Step 2: Submit all medical forms at this link BEFORE June 1st, 2025

Medical Forms MUST be submitted in addition to online registration! Registration will not be confirmed until all documents are submitted.

We Are Now Accepting Financial Aid Applications!

We are committed to ensuring any family, regardless of financial status, feels welcome to apply to the program. We are more than happy to assist families throughout this process, contact SummerCamp@gwymca.org for further details.

How To Apply

  1. Complete Camp Scholarship Application online (income documents required to complete application).
  2. The Financial Aid Committee will review your application and the Camp Leadership Team will contact you via email within 1-2 weeks of submission.
  3. If you qualify for aid, you will be notified via email and must accept the scholarship award to proceed with registering for camp.
  4. Once a scholarship is accepted, you must create an ActiveNet account BEFORE registering for camp. Sign up here.
  5. Notify the Camp Leadership Team once your account is created so your scholarship discount can be attached.
  6. Register for camp online. Discounts will automatically be applied at check out.
