BRINGING HOLIDAY JOY TO LOCAL FAMILIES
The YMCA of Greenwich’s Giving Tree is a beloved annual tradition that brings our community together to share kindness during the holiday season. Through this program, members and friends of the Y have the opportunity to purchase gifts for local children whose families may need a little extra help this time of year.
Each gift request comes from a child in a family that receives financial assistance through the YMCA of Greenwich. These thoughtful donations help ensure that every child in our Y community experiences the joy and warmth of the holidays — whether they celebrate Christmas or another tradition.
Gift requests are modest, with each child’s wishes totaling up to $50, allowing us to spread generosity to as many families as possible.
HOW TO SUPPORT
1. Choose a Gift to Purchase
Starting December 2, visit the Giving Tree in our Putnam Lobby to select an ornament. Each ornament represents a YMCA child’s gift wish.
After choosing your ornament:

Purchase the gift (unwrapped, please).

Complete our short online form to let us know which gift you’ve selected. This helps us track which wishes have been fulfilled.

Drop off your unwrapped gift at the YMCA by December 15. Our team will take care of wrapping and delivery to families before the holidays.
2. Donate to the Giving Tree Fund
If you’re unable to shop but still wish to help, you can make a donation to our Giving Tree Fund. Your contribution will be used to purchase gifts that were not selected from the tree, ensuring every child receives something special.
