Enhance®Fitness is a nationally recognized, evidence-based exercise program designed to help older adults improve strength, balance, flexibility, and overall well-being. Recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) as an effective arthritis management program, Enhance®Fitness combines gentle aerobic activity, strength training, balance exercises, and stretching in a welcoming, supportive group environment.
Whether you're managing arthritis, looking to reduce your risk of falls, or simply want to stay active and independent, Enhance®Fitness provides a safe and effective path to healthier aging.

*Ability to commit to all weeks is required in order to participate in this program.
This program is free and open to the community, even if you are not a YMCA member.
Each one-hour class includes:
- Gentle warm-up exercises
- Low-impact cardio at your own pace
- Strength training using ankle and wrist weights
- Balance and mobility exercises
- Stretching for flexibility
- A supportive group atmosphere that encourages friendship and accountability
Classes can be completed standing or seated, making the program accessible for participants of varying fitness levels.
WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?
Enhance®Fitness is open to older adults of all fitness levels.
The program is especially beneficial for individuals who:
- Have arthritis or joint pain
- Want to improve balance and reduce fall risk
- Are returning to exercise after time away
- Want to stay active in a safe, supportive environment
- Value exercising alongside others with similar goals
YMCA membership is not required to participate.
