Enhance®Fitness is a nationally recognized, evidence-based exercise program designed to help older adults improve strength, balance, flexibility, and overall well-being. Recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) as an effective arthritis management program, Enhance®Fitness combines gentle aerobic activity, strength training, balance exercises, and stretching in a welcoming, supportive group environment.

Whether you're managing arthritis, looking to reduce your risk of falls, or simply want to stay active and independent, Enhance®Fitness provides a safe and effective path to healthier aging.

ENHANCE®FITNESS UPCOMING SESSIONS

*Ability to commit to all weeks is required in order to participate in this program.

This program is free and open to the community, even if you are not a YMCA member.

Each one-hour class includes:

  • Gentle warm-up exercises
  • Low-impact cardio at your own pace
  • Strength training using ankle and wrist weights
  • Balance and mobility exercises
  • Stretching for flexibility
  • A supportive group atmosphere that encourages friendship and accountability

Classes can be completed standing or seated, making the program accessible for participants of varying fitness levels.

WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?

Enhance®Fitness is open to older adults of all fitness levels.

The program is especially beneficial for individuals who:

  • Have arthritis or joint pain
  • Want to improve balance and reduce fall risk
  • Are returning to exercise after time away
  • Want to stay active in a safe, supportive environment
  • Value exercising alongside others with similar goals

YMCA membership is not required to participate.
