There are many health benefits to playing pickleball and the number of older adults taking part has skyrocketed in recent years, unfortunately, so has the number of injuries.
Although Pickleball is considered a low-impact sport, it requires a lot of quick movement, whether you’re lunging, stopping, or twisting for the ball, these movements can cause injuries especially in older adults. Not all injuries can be prevented but warming up appropriately as well as proper strength and conditioning can help reduce your risk of injury.
Pickleball enthusiast, Erin Ruff, PT, DPT, a physical therapist at Orthopaedic & Neurosurgery Specialists (ONS), will present on Pickleball Wellness & Injury Prevention, a well-rounded approach to staying active on the court.
