A Night to Remember: YMCA of Greenwich Gala Raises Over $490,000 for Community Programs
On Friday, May 9, more than 250 friends and supporters gathered at the Greenwich Country Club for a night of fun, connection, and community impact. The YMCA of Greenwich’s annual Gala, themed Casino Royale: An Evening in Las Vegas, raised over $490,000 to support life-changing programs and financial assistance for families across our community.
The evening began with a festive cocktail hour, followed by dinner, a heartfelt program, and a high-energy casino experience that brought the theme to life. Guests played blackjack, roulette, and other favorite casino games with the opportunity to purchase additional chips to keep the fun going—all in support of the Y’s mission.
One of the highlights of the evening was honoring Connecticut Governor Ned Lamont for his longstanding dedication to the YMCA and to improving the lives of children and families across the state. Governor Lamont, a former YMCA of Greenwich board member and local selectman, has championed statewide initiatives for childcare, mental health, summer enrichment, and water safety. We were also honored to welcome Senator Richard Blumenthal, who stopped by to show his support for our work and community.
“This event is a reflection of what makes Greenwich special—people coming together to support their neighbors. Because of the generosity of our donors, sponsors, and everyone who helped make this night possible, we can continue to provide life-changing programs and financial assistance to those who need it most,” said YMCA of Greenwich CEO, Matthew Skaarup. “The Y is moving in an exciting new direction, expanding our programs and deepening our impact in the community. At the gala, more people had the chance to learn about the work we’re doing—from water safety and youth development to chronic disease prevention and accessible childcare. Every dollar raised helps us grow that work and ensure the Y remains a place for everyone.”
A major part of the evening’s success came from the support of Lugano Diamonds, our Premier Sponsor, who not only hosted a glamorous kickoff party in January, but also donated an exquisite pair of $11,800 diamond hoop earrings as our opportunity prize. With only 250 tickets available at $100 each, the raffle was open to all, not just gala attendees—a fun way to give back and win big.
“We were proud to partner with the YMCA of Greenwich for this year’s gala—a celebration of the organization’s lasting impact on families, youth, and the broader community. It was inspiring to witness such generosity and shared purpose. As part of the Greenwich community, we’re especially honored to support meaningful work in education, wellness, and connection—values that are central to Lugano’s mission.”

The night also featured an exciting silent and live auction, raising more than $50,000. From luxury getaways to local experiences, the auction was a huge part of the evening’s energy—and impact.
Of course, this event wouldn’t be possible without our incredible Gala Committee. A huge thank you to our co-chairs Stacy Pacifico, Zeina Pike, Jennifer Galbally, and Katherine Elms, along with every volunteer who helped make the night a success.
We’re also deeply grateful to our generous sponsors:
-
Platinum Sponsors: Golub Capital and Compass Partners
-
Gold Sponsor: Clear Street
-
Silver Sponsors: Carnegie Prep and Greenwich Psychology Group
All funds raised through the Gala support the YMCA Annual Campaign, which allows us to offer financial assistance and critical programs to anyone who needs them. In 2024 alone, the YMCA of Greenwich awarded over $460,000 in scholarships and assistance. Programs like Safety Around Water, Running Start, camp and childcare scholarships, chronic disease prevention, and more are all made possible by our donors’ generosity.
Thank you to everyone who attended, donated, volunteered, or supported in any way. This unforgettable evening will have a lasting impact on our community—and we’re just getting started.
