Celebrating Character, Leadership, and Excellence in Competitive Aquatics

At the YMCA of Greenwich, we believe that athletic success is about more than medals, scores, and podium finishes. The true impact of sports comes from the character athletes build, the relationships they foster, and the example they set for others. Through our Triple-Impact Competitor® of the Month recognition, we celebrate athletes who embody these values and make a positive difference both in and out of competition.

Each month, a different competitive aquatics team recognizes an athlete who demonstrates excellence through personal growth, leadership, and sportsmanship.

This month, we are proud to recognize Alden Charette from the Marlins Dive Club as our June 2026 Triple-Impact Competitor® of the Month.

Alden exemplifies what it means to make a positive impact on herself, her teammates, and the sport of diving. Her dedication, perseverance, and relentless work ethic have helped her achieve extraordinary success at the highest levels of competition.

This year, Alden earned a coveted spot on the 2026 USA Junior World Team, a remarkable accomplishment that reflects years of commitment, discipline, and determination. She also delivered outstanding performances at the TYR America’s Cup, capturing first-place finishes in both the 1-meter event and 3-meter synchronized diving competition.

While her athletic achievements are impressive, what truly sets Alden apart is the way she carries herself every day. Despite competing on national and international stages, she remains humble, approachable, and committed to supporting her teammates. She leads by example through her work ethic, positive attitude, and willingness to encourage those around her.

Alden's influence extends far beyond her own performances. Younger divers look up to her as a role model, and her dedication inspires teammates to pursue their own goals with confidence and determination. Whether in practice or competition, she consistently demonstrates the sportsmanship, respect, and integrity that define a true Triple-Impact Competitor®.

Through her accomplishments, leadership, and character, Alden continues to elevate not only herself, but also her teammates and the sport of diving as a whole.

What Is a Triple-Impact Competitor®?

The Triple-Impact Competitor® model, developed by the Positive Coaching Alliance, emphasizes that athletes have the power to make a positive difference in three important ways.

A Triple-Impact Competitor®:

  • Improves themselves through dedication, resilience, and a commitment to continuous growth.
  • Elevates teammates by encouraging, supporting, and inspiring those around them.
  • Honors the game through sportsmanship, integrity, and respect for coaches, officials, teammates, and competitors.

These qualities help athletes become not only stronger competitors, but also stronger leaders and community members.

More Than an Award

The Triple-Impact Competitor® of the Month recognition celebrates athletes who embody the YMCA's mission and values through their actions, leadership, and commitment to excellence.

Congratulations, Alden! Thank you for representing the Marlins Dive Club and the YMCA of Greenwich with such distinction. Your achievements, character, and leadership are an inspiration to your teammates and our entire aquatics community.
