Sharon D’Angelo: Creating a Welcoming Environment for Every Swimmer

As a Swim Instructor in our Swim School, Sharon D’Angelo brings enthusiasm, compassion, and a deep commitment to helping swimmers and families succeed. Her positive attitude and willingness to help wherever needed have made her a valued member of our aquatics team and a familiar face to many families throughout the Y.

Sharon consistently goes above and beyond her role. In addition to teaching swim lessons, she volunteers at YMCA events throughout the year, teaches parent-child swim classes on weekends, and plays an active role in supporting our Safety Around Water initiatives. No matter the task, Sharon approaches it with a smile and a genuine desire to help others.

What truly makes Sharon special is the warmth she brings to every interaction. She creates an environment where swimmers feel comfortable, families feel welcomed, and everyone feels encouraged to learn and grow. Her caring nature, reliability, and dedication help build trust and lasting relationships with members of all ages.

Brandon Mubuuke: Inspiring Health, Wellness, and Community

For more than 16 years, Brandon Mubuuke has been making a profound impact on the YMCA of Greenwich community through his work as a Group Exercise Instructor. His passion for helping others, combined with his energy, expertise, and genuine care, has inspired countless members on their wellness journeys.

Brandon is the textbook example of an outstanding instructor. His enthusiasm is contagious, his classes are engaging, and his ability to connect with participants creates an environment where everyone feels welcome and supported. Whether working with seasoned fitness enthusiasts or individuals taking their first steps toward a healthier lifestyle, Brandon has a unique ability to motivate people and help them reach their goals.

His commitment to others is especially evident in his work with the Parkinson’s community. Through exercise, encouragement, and meaningful relationships, Brandon helps participants improve their quality of life, build confidence, and stay connected to a supportive community. His impact extends far beyond physical fitness, touching the lives of those he serves in lasting ways.

Beyond the wellness center, Brandon is always willing to lend his talents to support the YMCA. Whether serving as a DJ at member events, helping create memorable experiences at celebrations, or supporting our Annual Gala, he consistently steps up wherever he is needed.

Brandon’s dedication, positivity, and commitment to helping others embody the YMCA’s mission and values. He leads by example and inspires those around him through his passion for service and his unwavering focus on improving the well-being of others.
