Sam Cox: A Welcoming Presence and Trusted Teammate

From his very first day, Sam Cox has brought warmth, humor, and genuine care to the YMCA of Greenwich. As a Membership Associate, Sam has quickly become one of the familiar and trusted faces at our front desk—greeting every member with positivity, patience, and an effortless ability to make people feel at home.

Sam goes above and beyond in his daily work. He offers thoughtful tours to new members, answers questions with clarity and kindness, and ensures every visit starts with a smile. Behind the scenes, he consistently steps up to assist with administrative tasks, support new hires, and fill in wherever help is needed. His initiative and enthusiasm make him a dependable and uplifting teammate.

What truly sets Sam apart is the way he lives our Y values. He leads with care, respect, honesty, and responsibility in every interaction—helping members feel seen, supported, and valued. His ability to connect with people, solve problems thoughtfully, and create a welcoming environment strengthens our community in meaningful ways.

Linda Parentice: Leading With Passion, Encouragement, and Heart

Whether she’s teaching HydroFit, leading group exercise classes, organizing walking groups, or guiding Swim Club’s dryland training, Linda Parentice brings extraordinary passion and care to everything she does as our Group Exercise Coordinator and Instructor.

Linda has a unique ability to meet people exactly where they are. She works with all ages and skill levels, offering thoughtful modifications and supportive coaching to ensure every participant feels confident, included, and capable. Her warmth and positivity make every class, hike, or workout feel welcoming—even for those stepping outside their comfort zone.

Beyond her fitness leadership, Linda plays a transformative role in building community at the Y. She leads our Trailblazers Club, a monthly hiking group beloved by members for its camaraderie, outdoor adventure, and sense of connection. Through this program and her everyday leadership, Linda creates space for people to grow stronger—physically, mentally, and socially.

Linda lives the Y’s mission through her dedication, kindness, and unwavering commitment to others. She models our values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility in every interaction, making her a true role model for both staff and members.
