Noam Tiomkin: Triple-Impact Competitor® of the Month
For Noam Tiomkin, being part of Marlins Diving has grown to mean more than his own time on the boards. As a senior and one of the program’s more experienced athletes, he has become someone younger divers can learn from, teammates can count on, and coaches can trust to set the right example.
That impact is why the YMCA of Greenwich is proud to recognize Noam as this month’s Triple-Impact Competitor® of the Month.

Throughout his time with Marlins Diving, Noam has distinguished himself through the way he approaches both his own training and the people around him. He brings a positive attitude to practice, encourages his teammates, and understands that leadership doesn’t always need to be loud. Often, it’s simply about showing up consistently, putting in the work, and being willing to help someone else along the way.
That willingness to help has extended beyond his role as an athlete.
During the summer, Noam steps into a different role on the pool deck, coaching younger divers and sharing the sport he has spent years learning himself. It’s an opportunity for him to pass along not only technical skills, but also the confidence and enthusiasm that help young athletes develop a lasting connection to diving.
For younger divers, having someone like Noam as a coach offers a unique perspective. He understands what it’s like to be in their position because he has progressed through the program himself. Now, as he approaches the end of his own high school diving career, he is helping the next generation take their first steps forward.
That full-circle commitment reflects what the Triple-Impact Competitor® philosophy is all about.
Developed by the Positive Coaching Alliance, the philosophy recognizes athletes who strive to improve themselves, make their teammates better, and honor their sport. Noam demonstrates each of those qualities through his commitment to his own development, the encouragement he provides his teammates, and his decision to give back to diving as a coach.
His example is also a reminder that an athlete’s influence isn’t limited to results or accomplishments. The strongest team cultures are built by athletes who take responsibility for the experience of those around them—and who leave their program stronger than they found it.
As Noam enters his senior year, the Marlins Diving community is grateful for the example he continues to set both as an athlete and as a mentor to younger divers.
Congratulations, Noam Tiomkin, on being named the YMCA of Greenwich’s Triple-Impact Competitor® of the Month, and thank you for continuing to make an impact on the boards, on your teammates, and on the next generation of Marlins divers.
