Two's Time

This program will provide a casual and nurturing introduction to nursery school. Your child will feel welcomed in our safe, stimulating, child-centered, pre-nursery separation program. During class time, your toddler will be introduced to the structure and routine of a typically preschool class room with activities like circle time, arts & crafts, hands-on manipulatives imaginative play, story time, music, dance, which all work to promote development of socialization, speech and language, fine/gross motor skills, and more.

Please note this is a "separation class" where the goal is for children to be able to participate in class independently. Although parents are welcomed to attend the initial classes, by the third class we ask that all parents simply drop off their child, but remain in our Y-Play area just outside of the classroom (or in the YMCA facility) in case their little one needs comfort or support beyond what instructors can provide in the moment (i.e. child has an accident and needs to be changed or is crying inconsolably). Children do not have to be potty trained to participate in the class, but should wear a pull up for class. Instructors do not handle diapering and will call the parent/caregiver if the child needs to be changed or has an accident. There is a bathroom located in the classroom for children who are potty trained.
